Canadian entrepreneurs bet on investing in Cuba

The presence of Canadian companies has experienced an increase within the Cuban market in recent years, declared Nancy Lussier, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Canada-Cuba (CCICC).

In exclusive statements to Prensa Latina, Lussier said that the exchange grows between Canada and Cuba and especially between the Province of Quebec and Cuba.

The official, who is participating in the Fair associated to the International Congress Cuba Industry 2018 and held in the Pabexpo fairgrounds, said that following the approval of the Foreign Investment Law, several entrepreneurs are expectant about possible investments in several sectors of the island’s industry.

Canada is looking for new partners and Cuba is the largest island in the Caribbean. Besides having great potential for investors, it is the gateway for other markets in the area, said Lussier. She also highlighted that Canada has maintained a good relationship with Cuba for more than 70 years mentioning that the Canadian company Sherritt is a great example of foreign investment in Cuba.
